Grant Recipient:
Just opened my mail and I am THRILLED beyond words!!! Atlanta Day and Night
AA's have been chosen to receive $2500.00 for a KID'S GRANT to give to the
W.I.S.E.Center for our Shamrock Event. We certainly we a BIG THANKS to the
Night group for submitting the grant request and ALL the hard work they have
done already to make this race a success. I am so glad the women at the W.I.S.E.
Center will benefit from this and it should make us want to work even harder to
make this the BEST Shamrock ever!! I am mailing the March newsletter this
week-end, but want you to know to that we really need help in securing sponsors
for the race. That is companies contributing $250 - $5000. Put on your
thinking caps and see who we can come up with. Also, they can use more raffle
items. Does anyone have a contact for supplying "goody" bags or items to put in
them? Please let me know if you have any of the above!!
Just a note to let you know that Barbara will be at DeKalb hospital next Mon.
for 3-4 days. (no Visitors). They are going to do a radiation implant, which
means she will not have to have any more treatments. Know it is going to be
boring for her, but sounds like a wonderful solution not to have ongoing
treatments. Sure she would appreciate a call and card. MARK March 20th on your
calendars NOW and plan to be there for a FUN Day.
AOT,
Pat (Pat Tooke)
Marjorie Rowles
Stakes Award

Congratulations to our very own Atlanta
Night Alumnae Association! Heather Grantham, Atlanta Night AA President,
was our association delegate to the Kappa Delta Sorority's 55th Biennial
Convention held in Tucson, Arizona. Much to Heather's surprise, Atlanta
Night was awarded 5 awards. On Saturday Night the National Council announced
the BIG awards during the White Rose Banquet. Heather joined nine other
AA presidents on the stage (all winners of the Alumnae Association Excellence
Award) as finalist for the much-coveted Marjorie Rowles Stakes Award
for Outstanding Alumnae Association.
In Heather's words, "after a minute or so of
such awesome praise and descriptions, I knew exactly who the winner
was... Atlanta Night!!! Of course, I still had to wait until Cheryl
(Cheryl Grant Sizer, National VP-Alumnae pictured second from the right)
called out our name just to make sure we were the winners. Hearing Cheryl
say 'the winner is Atlanta Night' along with the wild applause we received
was an experience I wish all of you could have been a part of..."
All of our members deserve Kudos
for this award, so come and join the celebration for Happy Hour and
Dinner Celebration at the Rio Grande on Roswell Road in Buckhead. The
celebration will take place Wednesday, July 9th starting at 6p.m. Please
email
Heather Grantham
